We are looking to fill the position of Head Custodian at Pleasant Avenue Elementary School.
This is a Pre-K through First Grade building with lots of little friends to keep you busy during the day.
The candidate will be responsible for the cleanliness and day to day operations of the building.
Work will include setting up for special events, locking and unlocking the building, cleaning the cafeteria and kitchen, ordering supplies, and ensuring the comfort and safety of the occupants.
This is a supervisory position that will have employee evaluation responsibilities, and you will need to work side by side with others to complete summer cleaning including scrubbing and waxing floors, washing furniture, and cleaning walls and light fixtures.
Having the ability to communicate clearly and effectively is a must.
Scheduling and planning play a part in the daily routine of the position but an ability to adapt to changes is also necessary.
This is a Civil Service position meaning your qualifications for this position will have to be approved by Fulton County Civil Service.
To be qualified you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least four years of experience in building cleaning and minor maintenance, two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Minimum starting pay is $18.
00 per hour plus a $2,500 stipend.
However consideration will be given to experienced professionals especially those who have worked in a school setting.
Hours are weekdays 6:
30 to 3:
00 but overtime is an expectation with this position including weekend building checks and early arrival for snow removal.
A fingerprinting and background check are required along with an unrestricted NYS driver's license.
