Summary:
The Fulton County YMCA is seeking a Full-Time Toddler Head Teacher for our Early Learning Center! Our Head Teachers are responsible for the age appropriate educational, social-emotional growth and development of each individual child as a whole, giving them a well-rounded learning environment.
Head Teachers are responsible in assuring compliance with OCFS regulations, YMCA code of conduct, and employee responsibilities presenting self as a positive role model.
Essential Functions:
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:
30am-5:
30pm Develop and implementing an age appropriate weekly/monthly curriculum to nurture and stimulate all domains of early childhood development.
Plan daily scheduling and activities to engage children and encourage learning through play, Social, and education age appropriate learning.
Provide developmentally appropriate lessons for individual child learning.
Provide on-going developmental evaluations of children implementing each child's individual needs.
Instill a culturally diverse environment.
Maintain ongoing, open communication with Director and parents.
Conduct Health Checks daily, Maintain and update child information, maintain a well-rounded happy classroom to instill a nurturing and comfortable environment for children, parents and peers.
Ensure a safe, healthy, clean environment following all COVID 19 cleaning and disinfecting protocols and procedures.
Assist and monitor nutrition and meals.
Qualifications:
AAS in Child Development, Elementary Ed, Physical Ed, Recreation or related field with no prior experience OR Child Development Associate Credential WITH one year prior experience OR 9 college credits in Child Development, Elementary Ed, Physical Ed, Recreation or related field WITH two years direct experience with children.
Previous experience with diverse populations.
Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
Submission of NYS Medical Statement of Childcare Staff Form documenting physician clearance to work in a childcare setting as well as TB Test which meets Health and Social Service requirement.
Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR; First Aid; AED; Blood borne Pathogens to be completed within 30 days of hire.
