3 Full-time Part-time 6 days ago Full Job Description HFM BOCES Regional Transportation has an opening for a Bus Driver/Dispatcher.
An applicant may be hired provisionally if the open-competative list is invalid or has been exhausted.
Applicant will be required to sit for the exam once it is given and be reachable once the list has been established.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES (Illustrative but not exhaustive):
Operates transportation computer software on a daily basis, including daily changes; Dispatches school buses; Assists in scheduling bus runs including special runs, athletic trips, co-curricular field trips, etc; Assigns substitute bus drivers to operate school buses; Maintains trip sheets and posts data weekly on drivers runs; Maintains student computer transportation database to incorporate into district student database; Sets up and maintains rotation plans on off schedule bus runs; Oversees substitute bus runs, keeping records on all their special and regular runs; Works with mechanics to schedule bus maintenance and repair and parts ordering; Maintains a variety of records and reports; Works as a bus driver on a substitute or for emergency purposes.

Job Qualifications MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following requirements on or before the last filing date:
Graduation from high school, possession of a high school equivalency diploma, or a high school individual education plan diploma, possession of the appropriate level New York State Driver's License, and either:
A) Certificate or transcript (college or high school) showing completion of a computer course; or B) One year of work experience involving the operation of a personal computer.
All experience required to meet the minimum qualification section is PAID.
Part-time experience will be pro-rated as follows:
16-23 hrs/wk.
1/2 time 24-31 hrs/wk.
3/4 time 32
hrs/wk.
full-time Applicant must have CDL license with endorsements.
Residency Requirement:
You must be a resident of Hamilton, Fulton or Montgomery County in order to be considered for this position.
BACKGROUND SECURITY CHECK:
Formal job offer/selection is contingent on ability to obtain a fingerprint security clearance through the TEACH system prior to working.
